His time away has been more than long enough for Tom. Surely the furor has to have died down, he told himself as he drove back into town late at night. He'd let himself into the house, not telling anyone that he was coming back. In fact he'd ignored the pile of mail, and only brought in the papers to dump them into the trash before crashing.

It/s early when he wakes, just after seven. Texting Kat that he wants to run, he then sends a message to each of his sisters. He'ss back, would be running down on the beach, and would be having breakfast in town around nine. They could join him or not, the choice was theirs.

He leaves his phone at home, sure that at least one of his sisters would call or message back. He doesn't want to talk to them on the phone, he's done enough of that over the past few weeks. No, Tom wants to burn off energy on the beach he knew, and then have eggs benny at the same place he's had it for the past five years; ever since he'd discovered hollandaise sauce. Locking the door, he slips his wallet and keys into his hoodie and then takes off toward the water.

He was back. No matter what his feelings are about his mother and all that has happened, Siren Cove is his home and he's back.
